7 weeks to my first race!

There are just seven weeks to Midnattsloppet now and I have not been getting the exercise necessary. Time to change all that, there will be some training every day now from short runs to weight lifting, treadmill, forest and asphalt running and not more than 1-2 resting days a week. Together with a better diet and no alcohol what so ever I think it may still be possible.

The demons to fight are excessive food intake, the heat outside as this is the hottest period in Sweden with temperatures reaching 30ºC it is better doing pulse-high activities in the evening rather than in the mid-day sunshine. Such as my 2.1 km run today which was tough but I still felt good after it.

I am currently developing my exercise schedule based on good advice from funbeat.se the greatest training community in Sweden right now.

Oh man, I totally forgot about this race! I’d really like to run it with you, sounds like awesome fun.

Just keep going with the running and you’ll get there, 7 weeks is plenty of time to get yourself feeling confident about it.

Hi Lauren! I’d really like that but I know from other friends that all the running/starting classes are full for this years run. Perhaps next year?

You and your husband is of course still just as welcome over to stay anytime you like to come over and see something different from the technical rooms of the Stockholm Metro :)

Time passes by so fast, that’s my only concern really :)

Yeah, next year I’ll definitely have to come and enter! I need to go research the local half marathon here actually, see if I can get into that (september time – goes round a major reservoir and is stunning).

As for heading over to visit, I’m sure Phil would love that actually – I may drop you a mail about it when I get back from the Alps.

You are both more than welcome over here any time too you know.

It would be great to go hiking in your mountains for sure, something to think about perhaps next summer or so. I know there are also lots of nice places in Scotland I want to do the same in :)

Sounds good about the Alps, let me know when you get back and we’ll arrange something!
