Bokeh (derived from Japanese boke, a noun form of bokeru, “become blurred or fuzzy”) is a photographic term referring to the appearance of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens using a shallow depth of field.[1] Different lens bokeh produces different aesthetic qualities in out-of-focus backgrounds, which are often used to reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject. –wikipedia

Tips in English
Tips for those who are not sure how to use their cameras to create a shallow depth of field necessary to cast the background in bokeh blurr.
Set you camera to aperture priority, this is the “A” mode. Then use the selector to select the lowest possible number of the aperture. This is the biggest aperture and gives you the most shallow DOF.
Go closer than usual and then have some distance to the background and you should be able to do this quite easily.
Huvva.
Winter is not the best time for bokeh, when you do it with the supermacro setting of a compact – but I did try a few shots last sunday.
Here’s one

I am just devoid of inspiration right now. Today I shot this just to get something, it’s part of what I am working on right now.
